The SARAH (Special Account for the Rehabilitation of Animals that are Hurt) Fund
The SARAH Fund was originally set up to help pay for medical treatment for a Lab/Golden Retriever named Sarah. She had been tied to a truck, dragged, and left for dead. A good Samaritan found her and took her to a local veterinarian, where she received care. The community rallied to pay for her treatment and at that time the SARAH Fund was born.
Since then, donations from the community continue to help OCHS maintain this fund. It enables us to financially assist those in need of medical treatment for their companion animals that they would otherwise be unable to afford.
The SARAH Fund is available only to seniors and low-income families. Each qualifying household may apply once a year for help. They may use the fund only for acute conditions/injuries and not for vaccinations or monthly medication/treatments.
